Dubai 2016

Alteria Art, supported by Collectionair and Prolab digital, presents ART BARTER DUBAI at Alserkal Avenue, the latest iteration in the Art Barter project series where art enthusiasts and collectors bid on anonymous artworks in exchange for goods and services instead of money.
The exhibition took place March 14 to 19, 2016, in Alserkal Avenue during Art Week. This was the first time the exhibition is featured in the Middle East.
Once again, ART BARTER DUBAI aims to make works more accessible to the public while questioning the notion of the art market. Having to barter also motivates the viewer to think about what they have to offer the artists that is unique. It then prods the artists to value their own work via non-monetary mechanisms as they ultimately decide which barter to accept.
The Dubai edition is the first time that international emerging and established artists are being featured alongside local artists, in this case from the UAE.

Featured Artists:
Zeinab Alhashemi, Nina Amber, Athier, Beloved Boy Chokra, Antony Cairns, Ghada Da, Alia Dawood, Adeline de Monseignat, Vikram Divecha, Zhivago Duncan, Camilla Emson, Reem Falaknaz, Rami Farook, Darren Harvey Regan, Nick Hornby, Thomas Hutton, John Isaacs, Jumairy, Zanny Mellor, Sara Naim, Elnaz Niknani, David Noonan, Joshua Press, Jamie Shovlin, Gavin Turk, UBIK, Eloise van der Heyden.

ART BARTER DUBAI was curated by Natasha Carella, Victoria Gandit Lelandais, Alix Janta- Polczynski and Lauren Jones.

The exhibition was kindly supported by Collectionair, Prolab digital and Alserkal Avenue.
